Software as a Service (SaaS) Model

The annual license, also referred to as the subscription or Software as a Service (SaaS) fees, is billed once a year. It covers yearly licensing, technical support, and software maintenance. Subscription fees typically decrease with more users and for longer durations.

The benefit of SaaS licenses are:

• The license fees are spread evenly over the life of the contract.
• Minimal initial expenses – only incurred if migration from an existing system is necessary, in addition to the first-year annual license.
• Annual licenses are bought from an institute's operational budget, which is generally more accessible than its capital budget.
